Delivery partner terms

The terms process servers, couriers, and bailiffs work under when they accept CanServe jobs.

Independent contractor

Delivery partners are independent contractors, not employees of CanServe. You choose which offers to accept, you provide your own vehicle, phone, and equipment, and you are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and any licence or bond your province requires.

Nothing here creates an exclusive arrangement. You are free to work for others, including other agencies.

Accepting and doing the work

An offer shows the area, the deadline, and the fee before you accept. Accepting means you commit to attempting by the deadline, or telling the office as soon as you know you can't.

Record every attempt in the app as it happens, with the location on, and record what you actually observed — the time, who you spoke to, what was said and by whom. A proof is evidence: it must be accurate, and it must be your own account.

Serve according to the rules of the province and the instructions on the job. If an instruction looks wrong, or you are asked for something you believe is improper, stop and call the office.

Never attend in a way that puts you or anyone else at risk. Leave, record why, and tell the office.

Confidentiality

Case details, documents, and everything you learn on a job are confidential. Use them only to do the job, never discuss them with anyone but CanServe, and never keep copies after the job ends.

Photographs are taken for the file, of the address and of what is relevant to service — not of bystanders, and never for any other purpose.

Your location is shared with the office only while you are on duty in the app, so that nearby work can be offered to you.

Fees and payment

The fee for a job is the one shown when it is offered, and is payable once the job is complete — the proof is signed, or service is confirmed impossible.

The app shows what is owed, what has been paid, and the reference for each payment. Raise any disagreement with the office before the next payment run.

Ending the arrangement

Either side can stop at any time. CanServe may withdraw a job or deactivate a partner — for example where a licence lapses, where the work does not meet the standard above, or where a case needs a partner in another area.

Records of jobs you completed remain part of the case file, as the law requires.
